Sys ENR
Deploy solar photovoltaic solutions for businesses.
SYS ENR ACQUIERED BY BUTAGAZ

Sys EnR is advancing the energy transition by joining the Butagaz group.
Positive Capital acted as the financial advisor to Sys EnR and its founder, Franck Raffali, in their capital reorganization project.
Context
With support from Butagaz, Sys EnR aims to unlock its growth potential in the market for designing, constructing, and maintaining photovoltaic solar installations for B2B projects, including rooftop systems, shade structures, and field power plants. With 49 employees, Sys EnR achieved a turnover of 10 million euros in 2022.
Since 2007, Franck Raffali, co-founder of Sys EnR, has continually aimed to meet the evolving needs of solar power plant operators. The company has completed over 500 installations, totaling more than 300 MW in installed capacity. Among its clients are major groups like Lidl (retailer), Spirit (developer), and Argan (logistics building developer), who have relied on Sys EnR’s expertise in the commercial and industrial sectors, including self-consumption development projects.
In a rapidly growing market driven by new government measures introduced in 2021 and the increase in self-consumption by businesses, farms, and communities, Sys EnR aims to accelerate project delivery. Leveraging the technical expertise of its teams and the stability of the Butagaz Group, Sys EnR is well-positioned to meet this demand.
The company’s turnover grew from 5.6 million euros in 2020 to 9.5 million euros in 2022. Franck Raffalli actively participates in various solar and photovoltaic industry groups, including serving as Chairman of the Groupement des Métiers du Photovoltaïque (GMPV/FFB) and chairing the GS21 technical committee, which issues CCFAT technical certifications for new solar solutions. He also represents the FFB on the Consuel board and is the treasurer of Enersud, the first photovoltaic production school in Marseille.
The role of Positive Capital
Positive Capital advised Sys EnR through a dual-track competitive process that attracted offers from both investment funds and industrial players. After thorough discussions with prospective investors on the entrepreneurial project, Franck Raffalli chose to partner with the Butagaz group to realize his business and legacy goals.
This transaction underscores Positive Capital's expertise in energy transition, following recent advisory roles for Elisath (energy savings for public sports facilities) and Urbasense (an IoT platform connecting green infrastructure, such as urban trees).
Rudolphe Michau, Managing Partner at Positive Capital, comments: "Sys EnR holds a unique position in the renewable energy sector. We’re thrilled that the company now has the ideal partners and financial resources to achieve its vision".
